Rhinoplasty

Your nose can often be the focal point of your entire face. As a result, even subtle changes to your nose can have a dramatic effect on your overall look.

By adjusting the symmetry, balance or size of your nose, rhinoplasty can create a harmony among your facial features that allows others to see you in a whole new light. Dr. Kenneth Toft offers an innovative approach to rhinoplasty in Sacramento that creates a natural-looking change while maintaining the unique character of your nose.

Why Choose Dr. Toft

If your nose is out of proportion with your other features, you may feel self-conscious. You may have learned how to pose in photos or how to use makeup to downplay your nose. These are common tricks that many of Dr. Toft's rhinoplasty patients used prior to having their noses reshaped through rhinoplasty. At his Sacramento area practice, Dr. Toft performs rhinoplasty to:

- Narrow a wide bridge
- Refine a bulbous tip
- Smooth a prominent dorsal hump
- Correct large or wide nostrils

Dr. Toft also performs revision rhinoplasty for patients who are unhappy with the results of previous nose surgery, as well as reconstructive surgery for people who have suffered nose injuries.

Dr. Toft's specialized training, attention to detail and exceptional results have earned him a reputation as a renowned Sacramento rhinoplasty surgeon.

The Procedure

Dr. Toft is an authority on the 2 primary methods for rhinoplasty:

Closed Rhinoplasty: The incisions are hidden inside the nose, so there are no visible signs of surgery. Dr. Toft typically recommends closed rhinoplasty, and he is able to correct most concerns with this approach.

Open Rhinoplasty: A small, inconspicuous incision is made across the columella, the thin strip of tissue between the nostrils. This allows Dr. Toft greater access to the anatomy of the nose during extensive correction. This approach is usually only needed for more complicated procedures.

Dr. Toft will perform isolated tip rhinoplasty, dorsum rhinoplasty or full rhinoplasty, depending on the patient's needs.

Your Recovery

Dr. Toft uses minimally invasive techniques so that the recovery process for his rhinoplasty patients will be as comfortable as possible. He typically uses no nasal packing, and patients rarely experience bruising around the eyes.

Pain medication may be needed for the first 2 to 3 days, but people typically report feeling good within 4 to 5 days of surgery. A support splint is taken off after a week, and many patients are 80% recovered after 2 weeks. Within a month of surgery, patients should be at 90% in the recovery process with no major restrictions.

Projected Results

Because it is normal for minor swelling to linger, Dr. Toft tells patients that their new look will evolve over time, with final results expected in 6 months to 1 year.

Dr. Toft believes that you should have nose surgery only when and if it is right for you. A private consultation provides the perfect environment to learn more about rhinoplasty and to benefit from Dr. Toft's personal evaluation and surgical advice. This is the best way to ensure results you'll love.
